Description & Services
| Description | Located in the heart of Mississauga, Parents are encouraged to take an active role in their child's education through our Parents Involved as Educators program as well as through various open houses and volunteer opportunities. Our teachers work collaboratively to challenge themselves and students to think critically about the world around them. They have also embraced technology as a means to communicate, create and learn. Environmental stewardship is a focus of our school and we are proud to be a certified Ontario EcoSchool. Students are taught to be environmentally conscious and to take action to improve our environment. Additionally, students are empowered to be leaders in the school through our student ambassador and playground activity leaders in schools programs. Through our education at Thornwood, students are encouraged to gain the skills, strategies and desired necessary for continued learning and growth. Our focus is to provide rich, learning experiences that develop a strong sense of responsibility for themselves and toward each other, their community and the earth's resources. |
